Master of Arts in Literary Tradition and Popular Culture

YEAR ONE

In addition to the compulsory study-unit, students are required to choose study-units to the value of 20 ECTS credits from the elective study-units on offer during the year.

Students can either choose study-units to the value of 10 ECTS from semester 1 and 10 ECTS from semester 2, or study-units to the value of 20 ECTS credits from semester 2.

ENG3041** Writing Skills for Postgraduate Students in the Humanities 4 ECTS

* Students who have not submitted a dissertation in part fulfillment of the requirements for their first degree will be required to follow ATS3041.

** Students are strongly encouraged to register for ENG3041 since it will help them improve their writing skills in academic English.

Semester 2

Elective Units Elective units are offered subject to availability and time-table constraints.

ATS5119 Sympathy for the Devil: The Representation of Satan in Western Literature and Popular Culture 10 ECTS
ATS5211 The Mediterranean - Representations in the Canon and Popular Culture 10 ECTS
PHI5107 Thinking the Political: Law, Sovereignty and Cosmopolitanism 5 ECTS

*** Students who register for study-unit ATS5102 are also required to register for ATS5002.

Students who register for a combination of study-units mentioned above, may register for a total of elective study-units to the value of 15 ECTS credits in semester 1 and 15 ECTS credits in semester 2.



YEAR TWO

During their second year of study, students will not be allowed to register for study-units which they have followed during their first year.

Students are required to choose study-units to the value of 30 ECTS credits from the elective study-units on offer during the year.

Students can either choose study-units to the value of 10 ECTS from semester 1 and 20 ECTS from semester 2, or vice-versa.
