(for courses commencing October 2016)

YEAR ONE

In their first year of study, students are required to register for 60 ECTS credits which may be chosen from any of the areas of study offered by the Faculty of Arts, or from outside the Faculty. Only level 1 study-units may be taken during this year and any study-unit pre-requisites will apply. Students are requested to ensure that the number of study-units is evenly distributed over the first and second semesters.

YEAR TWO

In their second year of study, students are required to register for 60 ECTS credits from any of the areas of study offered by the Faculty of Arts or from outside the Faculty of which not less than 52 ECTS credits must be assigned to study-units at Levels 2 and 3 (the number of Level 1 study-units taken over the three years of the course cannot exceed 68 ECTS). Students must make sure that the number of study-units is evenly distributed over the first and second semester, and that there is an approximate balance (± 10%) between level 2 and 3 study-units covered during years 2 and 3 of the course. Any conditions pertaining to pre-requisite study-units will apply.

This programme of study is governed by the General Regulations for University Undergraduate Awards, 2004 and by the Bye-Laws for the award of the Bachelor of Humanities - B.Hums - under the auspices of the Faculty of Arts.
