Study-units FRE0001 and FRE0002 are intended for students wh do not specialise in French and who are enrolled in a Faculty other than the Faculty of Arts and the Faculty of Education. These study-units are meant for students who want to learn French or update their skills in the French language. In both study-units, the emphasis is put on the language learning, on its oral uses, as well as on its culture, thanks to modern approaches in didactics. The subsequent objective is to encourage students to attend classes where French for specific purposes (that hold a personal interest for them) is taught (such as accounting, marketing studies, management, law, etc). This can be done after they have been adequately trained in basic French.
