| DESCRIPTION | The focus of this study-unit will lie on the receptive skills listening and reading. In addition, some aspects of German grammar will be practised, such as the conjugation of the verb (separable and non-separable), the declension of the adjective and modal verbs. As a basis for this unit the first chapters of the textbook "em neu Brückenkurs" might be used, or any other textbook of level B2.1 of the European Framework for Languages. A further topic of this study-unit will be German orthography and punctuation. The students will also learn how to develop a learning diary and to reflect on their own learning progress. Sprachpraxis 1 Der Schwerpunkt dieses Kurses liegt auf den rezeptiven Fertigkeiten Hör- und Leseverstehen. Zudem werden Themen der Grammatik eingeübt, wie zum Beispiel die Konjugation der Verben (trennbare und untrennbare), die Deklination des Adjektivs und Modalverben. Die Basis des Kurses können zum Beispiel die ersten Lektionen des em neu Brückenkurses oder eines anderen Lehrwerkes auf dem Niveau B2.1 bilden. Ein weiteres Thema des Kurses ist die deutsche Orthographie und Interpunktion. Die Studenten lernen, ein Lerntagebuch zu führen und ihre eigenen Lernfortschritte zu reflektieren. Study-unit Aims: This study-unit aims to: - practice and exercise the use of the receptive skills listening and reading in German; - practice and revise certain grammatical aspects of the German language; - create awareness about certain difficulties of German orthography and interpunction. Learning Outcomes: 1. Knowledge & Understanding: By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to: - understand more complex German texts; - understand more complex German listening comprehension exercises; - identify and understand the use of certain grammatical aspects of German, such as the conjugation of the verb and the declension of adjectives; - know how to write in German correctly by making use of proper punctuation and orthography. 2. Skills: By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to: - read more complex German texts; - use certain grammatical structures of the German language more confidentally; - understand spoken German better; - make use of a wider vocabulary of German.
