| DESCRIPTION | En esta asignatura se estudiarán las principales etapas, movimientos, autores y obras de la literatura española desde sus orígenes hasta el siglo XV. Orígenes de la lírica peninsular: las jarchas. Orígenes de la épica, los cantares de gesta: El Cantar de Mio Cid. El mester de clerecía en el siglo XIII: Los Milagros de Nuestra Señora de Gonzalo de Berceo. Orígenes de la prosa: Alfonso X el Sabio. El mester de clerecía en el siglo XIV: El Libro de Buen Amor de Juan Ruiz, Arcipreste de Hita. La prosa de ficción: El conde Lucanor de Don Juan Manuel. La poesía cortesana del siglo XV: Los Cancioneros; Santillana; Jorge Manrique. La prosa del siglo XV. Los libros de caballerías y la ficción sentimental: La Cárcel de amor. La Celestina. This study-unit will study the main periods, movements, authors and works of Spanish literature from its origins to the fifteenth century. The origins of peninsular lyric; the jarchas. Origins of the epic, the chanson de geste: El Cantar de Mio Cid. Mester de Clerecía in the thirteenth century: The Miracles of Our Lady of Gonzalo de Berceo. Origins of prose: Alfonso X the Wise. Mester de Clerecía in the fourteenth century: El Libro de Buen Amor by Juan Ruiz, Archpriest of Hita. The prose fiction: El conde Lucanor by Don Juan Manuel. The court poetry of the fifteenth century: Los Cancioneros; Santillana, Jorge Manrique. Fifteenth-century prose. The books of chivalry, and sentimental fiction: La Cárcel de amor. La Celestina. Study-unit Aims: - Familiarizar a los estudiantes con las principales etapas, movimientos, autores y obras de la literatura española desde sus orígenes hasta el siglo XV. - Acercar a los estudiantes a la lectura directa de textos literarios representativos de cada etapa, movimiento y autor. - Proporcionar a los estudiantes los recursos y técnicas necesarios para efectuar un comentario de un texto literario del que puedan extraer las características generales estudiadas en la etapa correspondiente. - To familiarize students with the main periods, movements, authors and works of Spanish literature from its origins to the fifteenth century. - Engage students in the direct reading of literary texts representative of each period, movement and author. - Give students the resources and skills required to perform a review of a literary text from which they can extract the general features discussed in the corresponding stage. Learning Outcomes: 1. Knowledge & Understanding: By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to: - identificar y describir las principales etapas, movimientos, autores y obras de la literatura española desde sus orígenes hasta el siglo XV a través de una serie de textos representativos; - analizar textos literarios a partir de las características que conforman cada una de las etapas literarias estudiadas; - comparar las diferentes tendencias entre épocas y escritores a partir de ejemplos concretos de textos literarios. - Identify and describe the main steps, movements, authors and works of Spanish literature from its origins to the fifteenth century through a series of representative texts; - Analyze literary texts based on the characteristics of each the literary stages studied; - Compare the different trends between periods and writers on the basis of concrete examples of literary texts. 2. Skills: By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to: - analizar e interpretar un texto relacionándolo con una etapa o autor determinados; - identificar la procedencia y autoría de una determinada selección de textos literarios de la época estudiada; - evaluar la calidad literaria de diversos ejemplos de textos literarios de la época estudiada. - Analyze and interpret a text associated with a certain period or author; - Identify the provenance and authorship of a specified range of literary texts of the period studied; - Assess the literary quality of various examples of literary texts of the period studied.
