| DESCRIPTION | El objetivo de esta asignatura es reflexionar sobre la lengua entendida como sistema de comunicacion. Se estudiaran aspectos relativos al proceso de comunicacion, a la relacion entre lengua y sociedad, al cambio linguistico, a los diferentes registros que se observan en el uso de una lengua, etc. Todo ello con especial atencion al espanol y a la realidad linguistica de Espana. The aim of this study-unit is to reflect on language as a system of communication. Various aspects of the communication process will be looked at, including the relationship between language and society, linguistic change, the various registers that are observed in the use of a language, etc., with special attention being given to Spanish and the linguistic reality of Spain. Study-unit Aims: Consolidar y ampliar los conocimientos adquiridos previamente por los estudiantes en las asignaturas Aspects of Spanish Language & Grammar 1 y 2 y solucionar lagunas y carencias. Consolidate and expand the knowledge previously acquired by students in Aspects of Spanish Language & Grammar 1 and 2 and address lacunae and deficiencies. Learning Outcomes: 1. Knowledge & Understanding: By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to: - entender los procesos que intervienen en la comunicacion humana; - comprender el funcionamiento de un sistema linguistico como sistema de comunicacion. - Understand the processes involved in human communication; - Understand the operation of a linguistic system as a communication system. 2. Skills: By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to: - analizar procesos de comunicacion; - reconocer los mecanismos del cambio linguistico. - Analyze communication processes; - Recognize the mechanisms of language change.
