DESCRIPTION | This workshop will delve into ‘learning-by-doing’ with the aim of demonstrating its effectiveness as an active learning experience. The groups will be introduced to a variety of hands-on techniques, and will be invited to reflect on the benefits of small group teaching, learning and cognition as a social and cultural process, and on power dynamics, authority and trust. Outcomes: By the end of this workshop, the doctoral researcher should be able to: - identify the advantages of small group teaching and learning; - describe the key requirements in planning and facilitating a session using inquiry-based learning; - discuss the importance of power, authority and social and cultural context in the learning environment. |
