DESCRIPTION This course is aimed at the exploration and adaptation of different unconventional materials for handcrafted fashion garments/outfits and accessories. Students should work on innovative and unconventional designs and approach the exercises with a wider perspective. Students can create and use a new shape for their outfits depend on the materials that they will choose. Students will be challenged to explore the potential of their creativity and embrace cutting - edge design concepts. Unconventional materials are zippers, DVDs, safety pins, tea bags, etc., and anything that can be manipulated in such a way to apply it on a piece of clothing. Each student can construct his/her unconventional outfit, or they can divide into groups of two/pairs.

Learning Outcomes:

Students will be able to:
- Think how to use with a creative way common things to make fashion;
- Stretch their creative minds and think out of the box;
- Familiarize with different conventional and unconventional tools;
- Explore different conventional and unconventional techniques in the context of fashion design and material rendering;
- Explore their uninhibited and innovative spirit;
- Design development through unconventional techniques.

Unit Material:

Appropriate unit material will be provided by the tutor during the sessions.

Assessment:

A certificate of attendance and of satisfactory completion of the unit will be provided at the end of the academic year.
