Entrepreneurship
has long been recognised as the catalyst for business development,
innovation and growth. It is about making or procuring the necessary
resources for making available an offering that is able to satisfy a
perceived opportunity. The entrepreneurial unit within DegreePlus seeks to:
- foster an ethos of idea sharing
- build an understanding of the necessary skill-base
- relate to motivational success stories
- inspire participants to be future leaders and to participate in the development of society
- help participants understand the practicalities of setting up a business
In addition to this, this year we will also be offering CareerPlus
a new unit aimed at providing an opportunity for students from any
course of studies to develop their abilities to make, and put into
place, effective career plans. Specifically, it will stimulate the
students’ interest in the subject of career planning, develop self
awareness, and equip students with skills necessary to identify career
opportunities. In addition, it will help students identify the key
elements of career decision making as well as develop job searching
skills such as networking, writing effective applications, CVs and
interview techniques.
