| DESCRIPTION | Contact: music.degreeplus@um.edu.mt Note: Following registration students will be asked to attend an informal audition. Objectives The voice class emphasizes a study group focusing on the development of rudimentary skills. The students will be introduced to a range of popular and classical music. The course will move forward towards the formation of practicum classes and voice study groups. These give the opportunity for the development of individual formats that will be supervised by in-class lessons and discussions, enhanced by additional individual tuition with a strong pedagogical content. Therefore, during this course students will be helped to build the skills needed for successful choral singing including vocal production, sight singing, ear training, and music fundamentals. Following an informal audition students will be assigned to separate groups according to their singing capabilities. Advanced students will be introduced to early music, oratorio and sacred polyphony. At this level students will be offered a full schedule, which includes a broad spectrum of great choral music, from choral orchestral masterpieces to newly commissioned works, as well as from world folk music to traditional songs.
