| DESCRIPTION | Contact: afc.degreeplus@um.edu.mt The aim of the Leisure Sport options within Degree Plus is to provide students with the opportunity to get involved in sport for recreational purposes. The focus, therefore, is not on sports excellence and elitism but on participation and enjoyment. No specific requirements are needed except a willingness to participate in a sport of your own choice from the list below. Students registering for the ‘Leisure Sport: Aquatic and Fitness Centre’ unit will be required to complete twenty sessions at the Aquatic and Fitness Centre. Students will become familiar with various fitness equipment and will follow a program aimed at promoting health-related fitness. Students can also combine workout sessions with swimming sessions at the National Pool. Qualified personnel will provide students with an exercise program tailor made for every individual need. The pool is heated, making it possible for students to take this class during both first and second semester, or during the summer months. To be eligible to take this class, students must first subscribe with the Aquatic and Fitness Centre Scheme. The fee is smart card refunded. For details contact us by email at afc.degreeplus@um.edu.mt Important Note: The fee charged by the University to the student upon registration only covers the accreditation process by Degree Plus. All other fees (e.g. transport fees, membership fees, etc.) are to be borne by the student. Furthermore, when registering for this unit, participants are declaring that they are participating in these activities at their own risk, and assume full responsibility for their own judgments, behaviour and actions.
