The Office is dedicated to providing a quality service to all students engaged in professional practice in schools to achieve their highest potential. This includes working with the Educational authorities, schools and school leaders and establishing stronger partnerships with them. The Office also offers high quality programmes for present and future educational practitioners and centres its research on areas directly related to teaching, teachers and their ongoing professional development, educational management and leadership.
The Team

| Ms Miriam Teuma - After teaching for a number of years in the Primary sector, she involved herself in the development and implementation of the Primary Curriculum. She worked in the Curriculum Department of the Education Division for sixteen years and was Head of the Science Centre. At the moment she is a full time lecturer at the Youth and Community Department and also the Teaching Practice co-ordinator. Presently she is the President of the Maltese Association of Youth Workers (MAY) which aims to promote youth work practice in various spheres within the community for the personal, social and political development of Maltese youth. She is also reading for a Doctorate in Education at the University of Sheffield. Her research interests are the management of non formal education within the youth sector, youth work practice and youth policy and the development of youth work in maltese schools as part of their transformation in community centres. | Mr David Pisani is a member of the Support Staff of the Faculty of Education, University of Malta. He is mainly responsible for assisting the co-ordination of the B.Ed. | Dr Christopher Bezzina is Director of Quality and Standards in Education within the directorate for Quality and Standards in Education and a lecturer within the Faculty of Education, University of Malta. Christopher is course leader of the Masters programme in Educational Leadership. He is involved with a wide range of schools on school development and school improvement initiatives. He has taught and done consultancy work both locally and abroad in the areas of teacher education and the professional development of teachers and educational leaders in various countries. In 2004 he was a Fulbright Scholar at the State University of New York at Buffalo and taught on their masters programme. In 2005 he was appointed visiting professor at the University of Bologna to teach the educational leadership component in their masters programme. He is also involved in various European bodies (ENTEP, ATEE, CCEAM) and a member of various international educational institutions. You may contact him by clicking here
