  1. the degree of Bachelor of Education (Honours) or
  2. a first cycle degree together with a Postgraduate Certificate in Education or
  3. a first cycle and/or second cycle degree or higher and a permanent teacherҳ warrant or
  4. any other recognised teaching qualification and a permanent teacherҳ warrant. In addition to the above, applicants shall be working and based in schools occupying a role with direct relevance to teaching and shall have a minimum of four yearsҠteaching experience.

The Postgraduate Certificate in Educational Mentoring is intended if you are a teacher based in a school and are interested in becoming a Teacher Mentor. The course will equip you with skills to mentor and support Master in Teaching and Learning (MTL) student-teachers during their field placement, and help them develop strategies for effective teaching that facilitates student learning and to adopt a reflective approach to teaching. This course will have a blended learning approach consisting of face-to-face lectures and seminars, online learning and a practicum. You will also be expected to engage in an amount of self-study in each module.

This programme of study is governed by the General Regulations for University Postgraduate Awards, 2021 and by the Bye-Laws for the award of Postgraduate Certificate in Educational Mentoring under the auspices of the Faculty of Education.
