Summer Institute on Doctoral Education - Vienna
The focus of this Institute will be to explore the ways in which geopolitical formations (e.g., the emergence of the EU higher education space and the Bologna process) and related funding and regulatory mechanisms have reshaped the meanings attached to doctoral education and to doctoral work in relation to larger regional and international processes. The emergence of new forms of doctoral programs, either as professional degrees or as online and distance-based ones, within expanding global markets in the fields of higher education, will also be explored.
The aim is to bring together researchers and graduate students to explore select aspects of doctoral education, in view of publishing an edited volume.
