Electrical Engineering provides the fundamentals required for the formation of an Engineer who is seeking to work in the electrical energy sector with particular focus on the requirements of the industrial and commercial sector. This course focuses on the electromechanical and electrical aspects of energy generation, conversion, distribution and use. The course also exposes students to the electrical and electronic design aspects required for the rapidly growing industry of power converters for applications such as: efficient use of conventional energy; renewable energy sources; and control of electric drives for electrical transportation, aerospace and wind energy industries. The course offers practical training which is supported by software simulation tools.
