The Faculty of Engineering has been awarded a prize for Leadership in Engineering by the Chamber of Engineers in the Malta Engineering Excellence Awards ceremony held at St John’s Cavalier on the 7th of December. The award was given to both the Faculty and to the Malta Information Technology Agency (MITA), as both institutions obtained a very similar score in judging. The award is the Chamber’s recognition of engineering excellence in the area of leadership. It is given to persons or institutions demonstrating success in the planning, implementation and direction of outstanding achievements; effectiveness in raising the level of engineering excellence; promotion of the engineering profession and engineers in industry and society; and technical and economic contributions to the success of the organisation. The trophy was collected by the Dean, and will be kept in the Faculty of Engineering to mark the achievement made possible through the dedication of its staff.
