With respect to signal processing, the department is mainly interested in processing signals to extract information or to model data, as a front-end to an intelligent system. Current signal processing research in the department is focused on the localization of brain activity, electroencephalography (EEG) data analysis for brain disease biomarkers and for brain-computer interfacing, as discussed in the context of biomedical engineering earlier on. Current work in this area include:
