Analysis, prediction, classification and control of natural or physical behaviour is usually performed in a systems engineering context by first obtaining a mathematical description of process being studied. The academic staff of the department is thus actively engaged in developing and implementing novel modelling and estimation techniques for various types of complex systems, with special emphasis on robotics and spatio-temporal system. Practical adaptive and intelligent controllers have been developed, implemented and tested on a number of test-rigs in the department’s Control Systems Laboratory. Work is mostly focused on:

    Control of Complex Systems 

    Robot Control

    Spatio-Temporal Modelling
