A walk through the main streets of Valletta to the Barrakka Gardens for a panoramic view of the Grand Harbour. Then on to St John’s Co-Cathedral, which is Malta’s greatest treasure trove and home to an impressive collection of art and artefacts, including Caravaggio’s The Beheading of St John the Baptist, one of the finest paintings in the world.
