There are seven full-time members of staff. These are complemented by four part-time lecturers. Lecturers undertake research in diverse areas, and contribute regularly to conference programmes and workshops organised by various faculties and institutes, and have a particularly good collaborative relationship with the Islands and Small States Instittue.
The Department also engages the services of temporary visiting part-time lecturers and overseas visitors. Other distinguished visitors, overseas lecturers and guest speakers visit the Department to discuss issues with the departmental academic staff or to present lectures to the students.
