Overall Aims of the Programme

The overall  educational objectives of the Marketing undergraduate degree programme is to provide the participants  with a conceptual foundation in Marketing and the skill base necessary to build successful careers in industry or to succeed in graduate school. The Honours year is an intense year in theoretical and applied courses aimed at developing the marketing skills of graduates on a solid basis.

Learning Outcomes

Participants acquire a deep and broad understanding of the marketing field both nationally and internationally preparing them to have rewarding careers in all aspects of Marketing both locally and abroad. The participants will develop the skills required to become effective marketers in all the areas of marketing mentioned hereunder. Participants will acquire the ability to think from first principles, to conduct solid marketing research, to manage marketing positions, and to offer sound marketing advice to their employers or clients.

Details of Career Opportunities and Access to Further Studies

Graduates with a bachelor’s degree in marketing qualify for a variety of roles in private, public and non profit organizations.  A bachelor’s degree in marketing prepares participants to enter most of the various marketing fields at a high entry-level or mid-level positions; common jobs include direct marketing, marketing research, public relations and promotions, product marketing, purchasing and transportation, business development and brand management.
The Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) in Marketing gives students access to different Masters Programmes both locally and abroad. The International Masters Programme at the University of Malta in Valletta offer post-graduate degrees in Marketing and Integrated Marketing Communications.

Details of Target Audience

Undergraduates reading Marketing as one of the major areas of study at the Bachelor of Commerce level who are aspiring to find jobs in the growing marketing field.
