National Office of Statistics (Malta)

The NSO official website provides the latest statistical information on a wide array of economic, social, and cultural issues in the Maltese islands. Furthermore, NSO is part of the European Statistical System (ESS) that has developed over the years with the primary objective of providing comparable statistics at EU level.

Competitive Malta

Competitive Malta is a not-for-profit, non partisan policy action group that sets an action agenda to drive Malta’s competitiveness in the major economic sectors of the economy. The Foundation  focuses on defining and promoting the smart use of the Island’s natural, human and heritage resources as an engine to national competitiveness. As a partner institute of the World Economic Forum the foundation engages in benchmarking national economic performance in a global economy on a number of dimensions.

Policy Hub

The first port of call for all students/practitioners concerned with policy-making.This site aims to promote strategic thinking and improve policy making and delivery across government. It endeavours to provide users with access to a range of perspectives on policy matters.

European Union

This is the main site for the European Union.   It is useful as it gives information on a wide range of topics, from those based on EU activity, to  EU policy, to information on living in the EU, to EU institutions, documents, services.

Commonwealth Secretariat

The Commonwealth Secretariat is the main intergovernmental agency of the Commonwealth, facilitating consultation and co-operation among member governments and countries. The website contains a versatile array of useful information, including election reports, communiquès, on-line library, official speeches and publications


World Trade Organization

This is the official website of the WTO, which is one of the most influential international organisations.  It provides up-to-date information about ongoing discussions, trade negotiations, trade disputes, ministerial conferences, international trade statistics, working papers.


United Nations Development Programme

The UNDP raises awareness about issues such as poverty, disease, environmental degradation, hunger, discrimination and helps countries to deal with  the challenges of democratic governance, aids and HIV, poverty reduction, energy and the environment.  It takes a socio-economic perspective of development and issues reports on Human Development.
