The study-unit is divided into two main parts: the theoretical framework (definitions, concepts, intellectual property rights, clusters, externalities and diffusion); and a more practical approach with applied case studies, such as the EU's Innovation Union, the creative economy, international trade in the creative industries, the role of education in knowledge creation and other policy implications and strategies. Study-unit Aims: The aim of this study-unit is to provide students with increased awareness of new competitiveness methods available to a country based on its human resource, through theoretical and practical examples.
