DESCRIPTION This study-unit consists of the following study units:

Psychology and Sociology:

A Human and Organizational Perspective

The study-unit aims to introduce the student to the Sociological and Psychological perspectives, in order to start training oneself to look at reality from the point of view of human relationships, and to help one acquire the method and skills to do so. Gaining such a perspective and knowing how to work through it scientifically is useful for other areas of study in the B.Com course.

This will be done by recurrently linking theory to life experience. Sociology and Psychology are presented as the analysis of fundamental issues in the lives of human beings living inevitably in groups.

Reference will be constantly made to theories and other issues in sociological and psychological thought to see their contemporary relevance and how these can throw light on actual social and individual problems. Such an exercise should serve as an example of how such problems are to be approached scientifically from the sociological psychological perspective.
