DESCRIPTION This study-unit centres around the write-up of a management report. Through the provision of lectures and practical case studies students will be able to consolidate their academic knowledge, strengthen their intellectual skills and develop a deeper understanding of the major areas of management. The build-up to a management report will provide students with hands-on writing and presentation skills, enable them to relate the concepts and models they have learnt throughout the course, and increase their inquisitive prowess to a contextual issue. Students will become familiar with the complexity of identifying, analyzing and planning a solution to a management issue within an organization.

Study-unit Aims

This study-unit aims to provide participants with the skills to structure, write, evaluate, and present an effective management report.

Learning Outcomes

1. Knowledge & Understanding:
By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to:

- Formulate and structure a management issue so that it can be presented in a logical manner in a management report;
- Categorize the choice of research methods in acquiring data.

2. Skills:
By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to:

- Examine alternative approaches to investigating and analysing a contextual issue;
- Write a valid management report with relevant conclusions and clear recommendations.
