DESCRIPTION Students following this study-unit will learn how skilful writing helps them accomplish their business objectives and extends their influence as a manager. They will understand that there is a specific purpose for each and every report they have to produce as a manager. Students will recognize the value of meeting the specific needs of the audience through clearer, and more effective creative writing. This study-unit provides students with the knowledge and understanding of how to write well and communicate effectively, by covering style, technique, and form aimed at creating credibly and convincingly to a professional audience.

Study-unit Aims:

1. To understand the objective of effective and creative management writing;
2. To build on student's existing skills in order to help them communicate their ideas effectively in the written form;
3. To demonstrate knowledge and writing in different forms, genres, and contexts.

Learning Outcomes:

1. Knowledge & Understanding:
By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to:

1. Understand the importance of when reports are necessary and why a certain writing style is required;
2. Acquire knowledge on how to produce creative work with confidence;
3. Consolidate an understanding of how to best persuade and influence the reader through writing.

2. Skills:
By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to:

1. Identify key issues in improving the performance of their creative writing;
2. Assess the best approach to provide information to different audiences;
3. Write-up and present an effective management report based on academic conventions of style, grammar, presentation, and referencing.
