| DESCRIPTION | Objectives: This unit is divided into three parts. The first part aims at presenting an understanding of the main theories of international trade. The second part looks at international trade policy. The third part includes regional integration and reescource movement and international institutions. Indicative list of topics to be covered: Absolute and comparative advantage; Patterns of trade and gains from trade; Offer curves and factor endowments; Trade restrictions and non-tariff barriers; Arguments for and against protectionism; Regional blocs; International mobility of labour and capital; Trade and growth; Trade liberalization and international institutions.
