| DESCRIPTION | The objective of the course is to develop the ability of students to apply macroeconomic theory and principles to actual real world examples. An overview of the basic theory will be covered during the course to provide the necessary background framework. The application of economic models to the analysis of macroeconomic issues is presented and discussed. Study-unit Aims - To encourage students to apply theoretical macroeconomic concepts to real world cases. - To help students in understanding the usefulness of theoretical models in the analysis of macroeconomics Learning Outcomes 1. Knowledge & Understanding: By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to: 1) Appreciate the role of theory in analysing real world macroeconomic issues 2) Recognise divergencies between the real world and theoretical models 2.
