| DESCRIPTION | Course Objective: Environmental economics assesses the economic importance of environmental degradation; looks for environmental causes of degradation; and designs economic incentives to slow, halt and reverse that degradation. The programme includes a number of seminars with students' presentations given on a number of topics. Indicative list of topics to be covered: - Water resources management - Coastal zone management - Liquid and solid waste management - Marine and air pollution - EIAs, environmental policy and regulation Suggested Textbooks: - Basic Introductory Book (Reading list for each topic distributed in class) - R.
