| DESCRIPTION | The aim of this study-unit is to introduce students to a rigorous economic analysis of public sector issues. By the end of this study-unit, students should be able to apply pertinent theoretical models to analyze real world problems related to the public sector. The topics covered include: public debt (including the optimal time path of debt issue, and tests of fiscal policy sustainability); taxation (including optimal tax policies); government expenditure (including education/health financing, and social security issues and reform); regulation; and privatization Reading List - Myles G.
