Corporate governance Study-unit Aims The study-unit helps student understand why management efforts to craft a company's strategy entails a quest for competitive advantage. Furthermore, the study unit focuses on the central issue that a company's strategy is partly planned and partly reactive and that it tend to evolve over time Learning Outcomes 1. Knowledge & Understanding: By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to: - View business related situations from a holistic point of view - Understand the dynamics of competition - understand the need to assess the generic environment 2. Skills (including transferable [generic] skills): By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to: Use various theoretical models that help him understand particular situations in business and which will serve him in good stead once he works in the real world of business.
