ECTS CREDITS 10

DESCRIPTION Humans have the potential to think, and to think about thinking because they have the gift of memory and reflection. Through reflection, humans are able to attune to deeper levels of awareness, as thoughts are raised to consciousness. Reflective practice has been identified as one of the key ways in which health care professionals learn from experiences garnered through daily work in the clinical field. It helps develop knowledge and skills towards becoming professional practitioners. The study-unit will commence with a series of interactive online discussions between the students addressing the various stages of the reflective process. Following this, the students will write a series of reflective blogs on the University's e-portfolio system.

These blogs will be specific to particular aspects of becoming a reflective practitioner as well as address pertinent issues on how reflective practice influences good quality care provision.
