Part-time post of Museum Curator within the Department of Biology at the University of Malta
The University intends to engage a Museum Curator on a part-time basis to assist in the servicing and maintenance of the Museum within the Department of Biology within the Faculty of Science. Preference will be given to candidates who hold a BSc (Hons) degree in Biology and Chemistry, or an equivalent first degree in Biology, and are currently reading for a postgraduate (MSc, MPhil or PhD) degree in Biology. Experience in plant and invertebrate taxonomy will be considered an asset.
The Museum Curator shall assist in the continuous upkeep of individual specimens as well as cataloguing and referencing of the various items, under the supervision of Dr Sandro Lanfranco, in order to ensure that students and staff of the department may make proper use of collections of the specimens and items. The Museum Curator shall be required to work for a maximum of 5 hours per week.
The engagement shall be valid for a period of one (1) year commencing from the date of signature. This period may be extended in writing for a one year period subject to funds being available.
