The University of Malta Community Welfare Committee organised an Employee & Family Day raising €2445 in aid of ‘Daniel Delicata Memorial Association’ and ‘Puttinu Cares’.
The aim was to foster a team spirit among academic and support staff of the University, and to raise funds for sick Maltese children being treated at Mater Dei Hospital and Great Ormond Street Hospital in London.
The evening included sports activities such as a tug of war competition between departments and a tai-chi demonstration, while a four-piece band entertained the guests. A Mass was followed by a BBQ and more live music. The activity finished off with the Euro Cup Final showing on a big screen until late. Prizes for cinema tickets, bowling tickets and cakes were also up for grabs, while food stalls and stalls with second-hand toys and books proved to be popular.
The Chairman of the University Community Welfare Committee, Pro Rector Dr Mary Anne Lauri, and the Director for Human Resources Management & Development, Ms Jacqueline Fenech, thanked the contributors, participants and guests for a successful outcome.

Cake Stall
Dear Colleagues,
On the 29th June, a Family day is being organized for University staff, family and friends on campus. This is a fund raising event in aid of ‘Puttinu Cares’ and the ‘Daniel Delicata Foundation’. My colleagues and myself shall be organizing a cake sale during the day.
