The Office for Human Resources Management & Development is organising a series of in-depth training modules on “Writing Skills in English” to be held during office hours. All members of staff are invited to attend.
The purpose of these modules is to provide staff with in-depth training on writing skills for administrative purposes. Guidance will be offered on how to format communication documents that suit the needs of the receiver, how to make appropriate choices concerning style and tone, and how to avoid a range of common writing errors. Specifically, the training consists of five modules and participants will be given the opportunity to attend any one or all of these modules.
The first training course will be offered to a maximum of 30 participants and each group will consist of not more than 15 participants. Trainees will be encouraged to take an active role by working on sample material individually and in groups, and a certificate of attendance will be presented at the end of the training course.
Members of staff who would like to attend are kindly requested to download the application form and send it to Kristina Micallef, Office for Human Resources Management & Development, Room 215, Administration Building, by not later than 14th July 2008.
Applications for inclusion in the first training course are being accepted on a first-come first-served basis. However, members of staff who cannot be accommodated within the first course will be placed on a waiting list for participation in subsequent training courses.
Further information may be obtained by contacting Karen or Kristina. .
