The Office for Human Resources Management & Development strives to provide training and development services to all members of staff within the University of Malta. These services are provided to cultivate a learning environment for employees and to continue to develop and enhance their workplace skills, increase job effectiveness and consequently improving performance throughout the University.
Training is provided to members of staff starting from newly recruited employees, by providing Orientation Sessions, progressing to provide training courses in core competences and specialised areas, and ending with Pre-retirement Programmes which is offered to employees that are nearing their retirement age. These courses are specifically designed to meet the needs of the University and the employees.
Training programmes are also delivered in conjunction with other departments, including the Office of the Registrar, the Academic Programmes Quality and Resources Unit, the Centre for English Language Proficiency, as well as the Health & Safety Services. Certain short courses are designed and tailor-made to cater for the specific needs of individual departments and sections.

These courses are strictly provided to University of Malta employees and, unless stated, are offered to employees free of charge.
