Euro Changeover:
A Guide in the Transition from Lm to €
The Office for Human Resources Management & Development, in conjunction with the
Finance Office, held three 2-hour training seminars in ‘Euro Changeover’ for members of staff working at Cash Points. These were held on 14th & 15th November 2007.
The aim of these short training seminars was to guide members of staff in the transition from the Maltese Lira to the Euro.
Mr Mark Debono, the seminar tutor, presented information on the Euro currency, the exchange rate and, the advantages and disadvantages of the implementation of the Euro. Each seminar focused on three important issues; the Euro changeover process, the Euro coins and notes and, cash and customer handling during the Dual Circulation Period.
The seminars were held in small groups of ten participants each. A few role plays took place during each seminar, in order to make participants aware of the different situations they may encounter during the Dual Circulation Period. Participants were also given the opportunity to provide their general feedback on the seminar by means of an evaluation form, distributed to them at the end of the session, together with a certificate of attendance.
Members of staff who attended the seminar were: Anita Aloisio; Sarah Attard; John Bartolo; Tiziana Bartolo; Alison Bone; M’Lourdes Cacciottolo; Marion Cachia; Joseph Calleja; Alison Camilleri; Christopher Cilia; Ruth Falzon; Peter Farrugia; Melissa Gatt; Elizabeth Grech; Theresa Kuymizakis; Mike Lawrence; Dorianne Lombardi; Doris Mangion; Graziella Mercieca; Carmen Micallef; Nadia Pirotta; Katia Saliba; Mario Sant; Stefan Sant; Graziella Schiavone; Josianne Sciberras; Dorianne Tabone; Carmel Teuma; Rosanne Vella; and Walter Zahra
