FINAL YEAR PROJECT IN COMPUTING SCIENCE (ICT3907)

The final year project is the largest single piece of work assigned to students throughout their degree. It's main aim is that of exposing the student to the scientific process in Computing, from the formulation of a hypothesis and the description of existing work on the subject, to the design and implementation of a solution, to the evaluation of this solution towards addressing the original hypothesis.

There are two phases which a student must go through in a Final Year Project -

  1. Phase 1 is the Preliminary Stage where students start discussions with potential supervisors and exploring possible Final Year Project titles / areas to be undertaken.

  2. Phase 2 is the Commencement Stage where students, following confirmation by the Board of Studies on the project selected, will start working on their Final Year Project.

Both phases are subjected to deadlines to which students will be asked to adhere to.

VERY IMPORTANT:

STUDENTS FOLLOWING A B.SC. (HONS.) IN COMPUTING SCIENCE DEGREE, WILL BE REQUIRED TO ATTEND THE STUDENTS' ANNUAL PROJECT EXHIBITION, WHICH NORMALLY TAKES PLACE SOMETIME DURING THE FIRST TWO WEEKS OF JULY.
