The European Masters in Human Language Science and Technology (MSc. HLST) falls under the auspices of the Erasmus Mundus LCT (Language and Communication Technologies) consortium. The programme aims to create education and training opportunities for future generations of leaders in research and innovation in the area of Human Language Technology. It provides students with deep knowledge and insight into the various disciplines that contribute to the methods of LCT and it strengthens their ability to work according to scientific methods.

Students spend one year at the University of Malta and another year at a partner University of the LCT consortium. In this way the programme achieves another aim of giving students a substantial taste of international collaboration.

The Course shall be open to applicants in possession of:

A first cycle degree in an area of study which the Board considers as appropriate, provided that the first cycle degree is obtained with a second class honours or better classification, or an equivalent classification.

Applicants are required to demonstrate that their standard of English is satisfactory. The offer of a place on the Course may be made subject to the applicants obtaining such proficiency qualifications prior to the commencement of their studies.
