The Master of Science in Human Language Science and Technology falls under the auspices of the Erasmus Mundus LCT (Language and Communication Technologies) consortium. The programme aims to create education and training opportunities for future generations of leaders in research and innovation in the area of Human Language Technology. It provides you with deep knowledge and insight into the various disciplines that contribute to the methods of LCT and strengthens your ability to work according to scientific methods.
Non-Maltese students spend one year at the University of Malta and another year at a partner University of the LCT consortium. Maltese students spend both years at partner universities of the LCT consortium, other than the University of Malta.
This programme is offered as an interfaculty programme of the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology and the Institute of Linguistics and Language Technology.

This programme of study is governed by the Erasmus Mundus Master of Science in Human Language Science and Technology - M.Sc. (HLST) - Degree Course Regulations, 2020 under the auspices of the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology and the Institute of Linguistics and Language Technology.In addition to the total number of credits for the programme (120 ECTS credits), students may apply to the Board to register for the extra study-unit listed hereunder. Extra study-units cannot substitute compulsory, elective or optional study-units that form part of the official Senate-approved programme of studies, and do not count towards the Year Average Mark or towards the Final Weighted Average Mark.
