| DESCRIPTION | The first year project is a unit designed to consolidate knowledge acquired during the first semester and assess the student’s ability to implement, explain and present a design for a specific purpose. Four credits translate into approx 100 hours of effort that is to be put into the following deliverables: • A computer-related artefact which shall be in the form of a program. • A report, maximum length 1500-2000 words (up to 6 pages of A4 text inclusive of diagrams, references etc.), describing the motivation and design of the artefact according to normal scientific conventions. • A set of 5 presentation slides.
