DESCRIPTION The seminar assignment shall be scheduled, on the advice of the Panel of Supervision, between 4 and 6 months full-time (or equivalent) after the commencement of the course.

Students shall carry out a 40-45 minute oral presentation to an audience consisting, inter alia, of members of the Faculty and students. They shall have previously submitted a literature review and a short abstract describing the contents of the seminar presentation.

The presentation shall consist of the student's appraisal of a subject area related to that of the dissertation. The presentation shall conclude with a brief exposé of the proposed solution to be used in the dissertation, but will not include a discussion of the results or techniques used in the dissertation.

Students shall answer questions posed by the audience and should demonstrate their familiarity with the literature and work being done in the subject area.

The seminar assignment shall be assessed by members of the Panel of Supervision on content and delivery.
