DESCRIPTION Objectives:

To introduce the student to the different classes of active mebatolites within plant species; their chemical extraction and analysis.

Contents:

The concept of metabolites' role in plants; Different Metabolites (Terpenoids, alkaloids, flavonoids, organic acids, etc.); their properties, extractability and uses in modern and traditional medicine.
