General Information
All students selected to pursue an Erasmus Exchange in Malta are kindly asked to read and follow these important steps:
Application Procedures
Students are to send the following documents:
1. The original Enrolment Form and Health Form together with the one (1) original passport size photo (the health form must be signed and stamped by a Medical doctor)
There are different Health Forms for Faculty of Health Services students, Pharmacy students and students taking Medicine and Surgery. These forms may be downloaded from our website
2. An official letter from your university stating that you have been nominated to participate through the LLP - Erasmus Mobility Programme
3. A photocopy of your passport or identity card
4. The important information form is to be sent to us once you have all the available details
5. A copy of your European Health Insurance Card (EHIC), and
6. A copy of your Travel Insurance
Students are requested to be covered by a Travel Insurance that covers items that are not covered by the EHIC such as: personal belongings, health services not covered by the EHIC, evacuation and repatriation
7. All students (except British native speakers) are required to present a declaration from their Erasmus coordinator stating that the nominated student has a good command of the English language, is able to write assignments in English and is able to follow lectures in English with profit
It is imperative that students send all the requested documentation and information:- Enrolment Form (a passport photo is to be attached to the form)
- Health Form
- Copies of the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC)
- Copies of the Travel Insurance
- Nomination letter from the sending university
- Important Information Form (when you have all the information)
- English Language proficiency declaration from home university
Students' acceptance is conditional to the acceptance from the International & EU Office, and is also conditional to the receipt of all the required forms/documents in original format

Full Year, 1st Semester & 2nd Semester students:
NB: Students are requested to stay in Malta until the end of their semester examinations, and are to sit for all their examinations and submit all assignments prior to their departure (click here to view the academic calendar for semester dates)
1st semester students please note:
NB: Prospective visiting students whose Home University's 2nd semester commences in February or earlier, are advised that the official examination period for the 1st Semester at the University of Malta ends on 6th February 2013.
In the case that the sending institution's 2nd Semester commences before 6th February, applicants are requested to submit an authorisation in writing (at application stage) by the Home University, indicating that the student is allowed to stay in Malta until the official examination period at the University of Malta comes to an end.
Language of Instruction
The Language of instruction at the University of Malta is in English, and students are expected to be fluent in the English language. No particular concessions are allowed to students whose level of English is lower than expected.

The Official transcript can only be issued once all the results have been published but students can view their results on-line through eSims at any time. Transcripts will be withheld if students fail to return borrowed library books.
