“If I ever had any doubts about whether I actually wanted to study History, this Erasmus + experience dispelled them. I was met with an extremely capable and bold lecturing team whose aim was simply to inspire, leading us to explore areas which have not been researched enough, making breakthroughs of our own, and sifting through primary sources, doing the job of proper historians.”

Nicholas Massa, Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) History, National University of Ireland Galway, UK

“My Erasmus+ took place in the central-southern city of Jyväskylä which is known to be one of the biggest student cities in Finland. Throughout the 4 months, the experience was all that I hoped for. However, I still had to experience new challenges such as, getting on a plane on my own for the first time to spending the rest of the trip away from family. Throughout this experience I learnt a lot about myself and all that Finland has to offer along with teaching myself to be more independent.
From the academic aspect to the social environment, these have been the very best 4 months of my life. I have made foreign friends that I will always hold dear to me and have a new found respect for the education system that Finland has adopted so well.
I would recommend this once in a life time opportunity to anyone who seeks to explore a new place and themselves.”

Stephanie Micallef, Bachelor of Communication Studies with Philosophy, University of Jyvaskyla, Finland

“Being a student of the French department, I knew I wanted to go to a French city to improve my French and be in direct contact with French culture so I chose the city of Angers which looked inviting to Erasmus students.
While on Erasmus+ I improved my French comprehension and understanding, reading and speaking skills.  Moreover lectures were very interesting and also helped me with regards to French literature and essay and writing skills.
What I loved most about Erasmus+ are the international friendships that I built during my experience, especially due to the fact that I lived in a student residence.  Even though it was only for a few months, these friendships will remain in my memory forever and it is wonderful keeping in contact with them even now that I am back home.”

Franziska Grech, Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) French, Universite d’Angers, France

“The opportunity to study abroad through Erasmus+ not only enables the student to experience another way of life and culture, but also to excel in the academic sector, which I found to be different than my home university. These challenges gave me insight into curricular activities around the globe and helped me appreciate the strengths and weaknesses of oneself. This was truly an unforgettable journey that contributed greatly to the open minded person I have become.”

Brian Joseph Pace, Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (Hons.) Artificial Intelligence, University of Gothenburg, Sweden
