The University is in process of implementing a European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) project to construct and equip an IT Services building which will house IT facilities, Data Centre and Network Operations Centre and that will service the University via upgraded fibre-optic infrastructure. The new building will enable the University to continue to upgrade and expand its ICT infrastructure and deliver state-of-the-art facilities and services that are required by staff and students for their research and education. The building will incorporate IT-enabled learning spaces for students, computer-equipped training rooms for use by all University departments, and extensive videoconferencing facilities. The project is expected to be completed in 2011.
