Workshops

IT Services offers training at no cost to academic staff who want to use the University Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) to complement and enhance their study-unit / class areas. Moodle is the VLE supported by the University of Malta.

 

Workshop: Designing your VLE Areas

This workshop offers academics the opportunity to consider the design aspects of their study-unit / class areas on the VLE including aesthetics, structure and layout. During the workshop, academics will work on one of their study-units with the guidance of an IT Specialist. This workshop is ideal for those who are new to using the VLE or who may need a refresher on the basic tools and functionality of the VLE. 

This single hands-on workshop (2.5hrs) covering these topics:

  • Uploading learning resources & sample past papers; 
  • Creating links to online resources (including YouTube videos).
  • Using the Announcements forum;
  • Creating a General Q&A forum;
  • Creating assignment dropboxes;
  • Using the VLE Copy Tool to copy study material from previous VLEs.

IT Services also organises Turnitin workshops for academic staff who want to use the University Plagiarism Detection software.

You can ask to be placed on the waiting list if the above workshops are fully booked, or are at a time which is inconvenient for you. You will be notified by email when the next workshop is scheduled.
