Introduction

IT Services has negotiated a University site licence for PASW software (formerly known as SPSS). The licence covers use of PASW for academic purposes. The software is available for University staff and students.

The current PASW version available from IT Services is PASW Statistics 18 for Windows and includes the following modules: Tables (Original), Advanced Statistics, Regression Models (Professional Statistics), Custom Tables, Trends, Categories, Conjoint and Exact Tests. Manuals can be accessed online.


System Requirements

PASW Statistics 18 for Windows

  • Operating System: Microsoft® Windows XP (32-bit versions), Vista (32-bit or 64-bit versions) or Windows 7
  • Hardware: Intel® or AMD x86 processor running at 1GHz or higher
  • Memory: 1GB RAM or more recommended
  • Minimum free drive space: 800MB
  • DVD drive
  • Super VGA (800x600) or higher resolution monitor
  • For connecting with PASW Statistics Server, a network adapter running the TCP/IP network protocol
  • Web browser: Internet Explorer 6 or 7

Costs

University students will be provided with an PASW DVD and an installation code. A charge is levied for every PASW installation or licence code renewal.

Upgrades

The charges indicated in the previous section cover PASW upgrades released during the licence period. Information about PASW upgrades will be made available on this web page and IT Services Notices.

IT Services organises PASW training courses for University students.
