DESCRIPTION Individual Research Project conducted by the student on a specific theme related to aspects of cultural tourism agreed upon between the student and his/her supervisor and approved by the Board of Studies. The study will be done through individual research.

Study-unit Aims:

The main aim of this unit is for the student to conduct investigative research, analyse the data collected and write an academic paper based on the findings related to the area of cultural tourism.

Learning Outcomes:

1. Knowledge & Understanding:

By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to:

- Design a research question or hypothesis;
- Design an appropriate research tool;
- Conduct an in-depth literature review;
- Conduct independent research by means of documentary/field research using quantitative and/or qualitative research techniques;
- Analayse data also with the use of software tools;
- Write an academic report.

2. Skills:

By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to:

- Use research skills which are library and/or internet-based and to collect primary data;
- Use analytical skills to address pertinent problems;
- Write papers / reports for academic purposes.
