| The Malta Library & Information Association (MaLIA) was set up in 1969. The Association, run by an elected Council whose meetings are held at the University of Malta Library, aims to bring together and to provide a voice for persons in Malta engaged in the library, information and archive professions. MaLIA is a member of the International Federation of Library Associations (IFLA), a founding member of the Commonwealth Library Association (COMLA), and a member the European Bureau of Library, Information and Documentation Associations (EBLIDA). MaLIA regularly publishes monographs and other material for educational and informational purposes.
